The final balance of the first summer season of Air Italy, including the large numbers of new Italian-US flights (launched in June) indicates that 90% of the load factor has been reached. The summer 2018 operating flights to and from Olbia Costa Smeralda, shows that Air Italy will close the season transporting over 500,000 passengers.

“We were confident that the start of the routes to the United States, just a few months after the launch of our new brand, would have been very challenging. A confidence due to the strength of our business model,” said Brian Ashby, Marketing & Corporate Communications Director of Air Italy.

“Looking to the east, with the launch of the Malpensa Bangkok and the upcoming inaugurations of the connections to Delhi on December 6 and Mumbai on December 13, we move towards the end of this year with a solid and balanced network, continuing to introduce further aircraft in the fleet and to improve our range of products and services.”

Starting from the next winter season – from October 28 to March 31 – Air Italy has also increased the frequencies previously forecast on the Milan-New York route, bringing them from 5 to 6 weekly and introducing also Saturday from December 1, so the Big Apple will be connected every day from Milan Malpensa. “On the Milan-Miami and Milan-Bangkok route, we will schedule 5 weekly flights,” Ashby said.

Moving on to African destinations such as Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Egypt, these will all benefit from more frequencies for the winter of 2018-19, with flights to Accra and Lagos doubled from 2 to 4 every 7 days, while Cairo and Dakar will both be served with 5 weekly frequencies.

As for the 2019 winter season, there are already no-stops for Miami (4 times a week), New York (daily), and Bangkok (5 times a week).

When asked about a possible operation also at Rome Fiumicino Airport, Brian Ashby does not lose balance responding, “We could hypothesize a possible confirmation in the future.”

As for the fares on all Air Italy destinations, Ms. Luisa Chessa, Inside Sales Office Manager, assures, “They are competitive.” As for bookings until the summer of 2019, sales are already significant and meeting expectations.
