Bratislava – Slovakia’s entry to the Eurozone increased its attractiveness for Germans, the Slovak Tourism Agency (SACR) has said after the International Tourism Fair CTM in Stuttgart that took place January 17-25.

Presentation of SACR received positive responses on the euro adoption in Slovakia. “The membership in Eurozone increased the interest in spending a holiday in our country. It helped our image in Germany,” said SACR, which has yet to compile statistics to back up the feedback coming from its members about increasing numbers of German tourists.

The fair’s visitors were mostly interested in summer and winter holidays in the mountains, spas, thermal parks, bicycle tourism and UNESCO sights. Apart from euro adoption, the German media has been focusing on the further development of tourism in Slovakia.

There were some 1,900 exhibitors from 95 countries participating in the fair and around 200,000 visitors saw the presentations.
